I played the brand new Study in Emerald board game tonight. It was pretty awesome. Halfway between Lords of Waterdeep and a much better done Discworld: Ankh-Morpork.

If only the Other One hadn't kept assassinating Sherlock Holmes...

"The Abbey Grange" is an interesting and somewhat startling example of the Compassionate Holmes. Moffat has apparently said that the difference between Sherlock and the Doctor is that the Doctor is compassionate (and Sherlock isn't) - and this is certainly true of the way he writes the characters. I was watching "The Great Game" yesterday, and near the beginning there's a bit of dialogue between John and Sherlock that is almost word for word out of some of the initial dialogue between Polly (I think) and the Cybermen in "the Tenth Planet." Let me see if I can find the direct quotes.
